Thought it would be good to announce the gender of this little nugget that's coming...we're having a girl! I really hope she doesn't have quite so much pink as this girl, but Jon's expecting an overload of GIRL soon :)
Everyone keeps asking if we're excited. My answer has often been something like "Ummm...sure!"This baby gives us a lot to think about-such a ticking time bomb. We know we'll love her when she gets here, we're excited that she's super healthy and moving around, etc. Even with our countless hours spent with small children, we know that there is so much to learn. So we're happy...and nervous...and know that this is God's plan...and know that this is special as everyone says. It's just also a little strange. Strange to watch my belly grow everyday and not have to worry about gaining weight. Strange bumping into doors when I never used to. Strange sleeping for 10+hours per night and still being exhausted. Strange looking forward to my own baby that I had a part in making. Strange moving on to another stage in life.
I was talking with my high school girls about their upcoming life changes...they're all seniors in high school and planning to attend college in the fall. That is such a huge life change for them-exciting, scary, unknown, stretching...such a growing experience. They'll figure out more so who they are, maybe meet their future spouses, grow in their faith, and meet a ton of new people.
I feel like I'm going through a similar change in my life. There is so much information out there, but all that matters is how it affects my growing family. We're definitely on a fun adventure that Jon and I want to continue for life. This will be one of life's largest and on-going challenges and we know it will be fulfilling.
So the descriptor I would put on this would be that I'm hopeful during this time and looking forward to this part of my family's adventure.
Oh, and we're now at 24 weeks. I guess I should take a belly picture or something. Michelle might get upset if I keep delaying :)
